If you are "New" to Scouting, you just need to contact the District Explorer Scout Leader Administrator (DESLA), to register your interest and say which Unit you would like to join. We'll then send you a Welcome Pack and the Unit Leaders will contact you to invite you along to some meetings to ‘try it out'. All you need to do before you start is get the forms completed and back to the DESLA.

If you're ‘Moving Up' from Scouts, the Crafts Hill District Explorer Team will be working behind the scenes with your Scout Troop Leaders to ensure that your transfer to Explorer Scouts is a smooth as possible. If you have not received a Welcome Pack yet please email the DESLA to request a copy.  'Moving Up' requirements include the completion of your Moving On Award, the requirements of which are as follows:

• The young person must check that they are registered with the DESLA.

• They must have talked with their Scout Leader about the options available in Scouting.

• They must take part in three activities that are of interest to them, offered by the District Units.

• They need to talk to the Leaders of the Unit(s) that are of interest to them.

Every new member will have to fill in the MEMBER INFORMATION [FORM.A], so we have all yours and your parents contact details. There will also be some forms for your parents to fill in for their consent to you taking part in activities and should it be required, their Emergency Medical consent.
